The wine

Masusta comes from a 60-year-old vineyard in the area of Carcar (high bank of Navarra) whose landscape captivated its winemaker Luis Moya. After working several years in a cooperative in the area, Luis decides to make his first wine alone from the grapes of this vineyard that he grows. Masusta, dwells in Basque, takes its name from the huge bramble that is in the middle of the vineyard. In this way both the name and the wine are a faithful reflection of the vineyard they come from.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker

The red 2018 Masusta comes from an organically farmed vineyard (not certified). It fermented in a way to preserve the varietal character of the Garnacha, and it matured in neutral oak barrels over two winters to achieve a natural stabilization of the wine. It's ripe and full at 14.5% alcohol, but it's balanced and shows no excess. The oak is completely integrated, and the wine is juicy and reveals fine-grained tannins and pure flavors. 3,200 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2020.

LMT Wines - Luis Moya

The initials LMT stand for Luis Moya Tortosa, a 38-year-old agricultural engineer who, after several years working on various wine projects in Navarra and Rioja, took the plunge in 2012 to make his own wines, the result of years of experience and, above all, a great passion. His first contact with the world of wine came through the bar he ran in his hometown, Burlada. At the same time, he started working at the Santo Cristo del Amparo Cooperative in Aibar, Navarre and, absolutely...
