The wine

Menade has stood out from day one for the outstanding character of its white wines. Small and very small-scale productions of thrilling wines produced from vineyards with strong personalities and many old vines, some of them being among the oldest in the Castilla y León region. The winery is also known for its pioneering work in obtaining official organic agriculture labels for its work, creating wines which express perfectly their terroir and landscapes and delight wine-lovers with varietal and mineral aromas and the faintest hint of wood.

This is how they produce Menade Verdejo, their flagship wine and one of the Verdejos you must try so as to understand and appreciate the freshness and the wild and purest side to the variety. An unbeatable wine!

What does this wine taste like?

Displaying a straw-yellow colour with greenish glints, Menade Verdejo elegantly combines aromas of fresh grass with fruity hints of peach. Dry in the mouth, as expected with a Verdejo, it delivers a balanced and aromatic taste with touches of fennel over a mineral backdrop rounding off its sensations of fullness and culminating in a splendid bitter finish.

Bodegas Menade

Bodegas Menade

With five generations of winemakers behind them, the Sanz siblings have been involved since 2005 in their own project, Bodegas Menade. The winery, a pioneer in organic certification, makes its wines in the same buildings as the family's ancestors made theirs back in 1870. Richard Sanz, a talented winemaker in the creation of white wines of character, is part of this project which has ruled out large-scale production and opted for the reclamation of terroirs with great...
