The wine

Labels can be unusual and effective. What does this Ocho Patas suggest to you? Without a face but with a hat: an Albariño sailor? Albariño, without a doubt. It’s a dapper gent who is being supported on eight solid legs: stone fruit, apple, white flowers, fresh grapes, oiliness, salinity, intensity and freshness.

This Albariño, pale yellow in colour and with greenish hues, exhibits an intense nose, with aromas of white peach, green apple and white flowers in the foreground, that evolve towards rather more glyceric and intense notes, such as grape skins (especially Muscatel grapes) and apple peel, notes which start to leave a suggestion on the nose of its oiliness. On the palate, its entry is intense, fairly powerful, with a sweet touch that is most inviting and confirms that oily texture, very well compensated now in the mouth by a clean acidity. It is pleasant, juicy and very fruit-forward, leaving a lovely saline and mineral sensation on the lips.

An Albariño perfect for teaming up with food, as a delightful accompaniment to delicious tapas, like Galician style octopus.
