Serra is the name that the Paitin family has long used as a diminutive from the cooler and less steep side of the Serraboella, historically voted for great Barbere. More evolved, richer, less draining soils, in a more closed but rather cooler valley, give rise to wines with a composed character, full but never opulent, balanced in freshness. For several years, the Serraboella barber groves have also flowed into the Serra, but those of a plot of the hills in the Rivoli area of Alba have also minimized.
At the sight this Barbera is bright and intense ruby red in color; the nose expresses hints of red fruits, floral notes of roses and flavors of sweet spices. The sip is medium-bodied, soft but well balanced by an acid vein and a consistent tannic texture. Perfect in combination with cold cuts and delicate first and second courses based on red meats and pork.

Lovely, characteristic Barbera
Quite closed at first but with some air exhibits a lovely nose and great complexity and persistence for the price. Top value for money.
