The wine
Ottavianello (or Ottaviano) is an ancient black grape variety from the Brindisi area. Over the decades it has risked abandonment and today it represents an indigenous peculiarity to be preserved. The vine has a rusticity that refers to ancient times, to the wine "of the past". Ottavia & Nello wine has a ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose it has strong perceptions of crunchy red fruit such as pomegranate, blueberries and small berries from the undergrowth. The more rustic notes of the grape offer perceptions of dried fruit such as walnuts and hazelnuts. The taste is fresh, with strong tannins that offer a long and persistent finish.
