The wine

Benjamin Ingham is the second character to write the history of Marsala. He arrived in Sicily in 1806 in search of fortune and settled in Palermo to devote himself to importing wool from England and exporting products from the island to London. His curiosity drives him to Marsala, where he senses the enormous potential of the wine trade. In this way, to build a technically equipped wine factory, creating a real Marsala wine industry. Ingham was the first to explore new trade routes, expanding exports not only to England but also to Europe and America.

Pellegrino dedicates the BIP Benjamin label to him, where Bip stands for Benjamin Ingham Palermo, city elected as his residence in Sicily: a sweet Marsala Superiore Riserva Oro 2013. From grillo, catarratto and inzolia grapes grown in the western coastal strip between Marsala and Petrosino , its gold color shines in the glass. Sweet and intense in its aromas, with notes of melon and medlar. On the palate, sweet and persistent with evident notes of apricot and cooked pear.
