Petra Merlot Quercegobbe

Seductive and easy to drink, resulting from a Merlot picked at its optimum point of ripeness and undergoing a careful vinification (fermentation in temperature-controlled wooden vats, 15 months of ageing in 600-litre, new and second-wine barrels).

Once the wine is released onto the market, after having spent some 10 months in bottle, it comes over as elegant and most enjoyable. A dark, impenetrable ruby-red colour, it displays an intense bouquet on the nose: black fruits, oriental spices, cloves, leather, Indian ink, liquorice, eucalyptus, myrtle... On the palate it's elegant and well-balanced, revealing a velvety smoothness, with powerful tannins which lead on to a flavoursome finish, gently and pleasantly hinting at aromatic herbs.
