Pontellón

Pontellón is an Albariño from a Vilachán estate, in Pontevedra, where the vineyards grow halfway up the slope and benefit from a southerly orientation which guarantees a plentiful amount of sunshine. The mild climate enables the grapes to mature slowly and thus preserves their varietal aromas, and the soils —granite, sandy and very permeable— help to enhance these aromas and endow the end result with extra finesse.

With a clean, powerful nose and displaying citrus and fruit notes, Pontellón is made according to a process in which alcoholic fermentation is delayed before completion so that greater sweetness can thus be obtained. On the palate it appears structured, with plenty of body, fruity and citrusy, and ends with a long, elegant finish.
