The wine

From the oldest vines of the Salco vineyard, the most mature and important of our estate. A field of 2ha, with vines of 29-31 years of age, entirely cultivated with a company clone of Sangiovese Prugnolo Gentile that easily reaches a slight over-ripening with each harvest. After 2 years of wood it refines up to 2 years in the bottle before being put on the market. This wine, the result of the historical experience of the Salco vineyard, is dedicated to the Alliance Vinum project, the union between six producers of Montepulciano aimed at the growth of individuals and the entire territory.

Aromas of fresh leather, berries and rose give a persuasive nose to this radiant red along with balsamic and camphor hints. The compact and elegantly structured palate expresses ripe cherry, black raspberry, licorice and crushed mint, all framed in an enveloping and fine tannic texture with lively acidity. It is a linear wine, still youthful as well as austere with good aging potential.

Minimum intervention is allowed in the vineyard, where they only use non-mechanical methods so as to protect and respect the biodiversity of the land, including the nature...
