Very modern and functional, but above all in full harmony with nature, Poggio San Polo is the Allegrini family Tuscan winery. Situated along the south-east side of Montalcino, on calcareous soils, the estate produces a Brunello with a very low environmental impact, with a touch of modernity given by two years of ageing in medium-size barrels, partly new.
An intense and powerful wine, bright ruby red in appearance with garnet reflections, this Brunello expresses a broad and ethereal bouquet, with characteristic aromas of violet and small red fruits at the forefront. There are also hints of underbrush, aromatic wood, vanilla and composite jam, followed by subtle notes of coffee. On the palate it is warm, a wine of dense and full-bodied texture, with a long finish and well defined tannins.
Good to pair with rich meat dishes, especially feathered and furred game such as wild boar and pheasant, possibly accompanied by mushrooms or truffles. It also goes well with cheese such as tome, parmesan and seasoned Tuscan pecorino.

Solid Brunello with amazing value for money
Needs a lot of breathing like most Brunello, then you discover all the flavour. Still a bit young but it will get better and better. Such a great value for money
