The 100,000 or so bottles produced by the Sedilesu family arise from the heart of Cerdeña, in the district of Barbagia di Ollolai, where the winery owns its vineyards that lie on granite soils, which are ideal for one of the region's most deeply-entrenched grape varieties: the Cannonau. The Sedilesu family's work steadfastly upholds tradition and the respect they feel for nature. Their harvests are carried out manually and, after a meticulous selection, the fruit undergoes maceration for up to 45 days and then fermentation, after which the wine is bottled without filtration.
Mamuthone is the winery's star product and an excellent example of the Cannonau variety grown in this region, originating from vineyards aged around 50 years old. A ruby red colour, it releases on the nose profound and complex, locally-induced aromas of Mediterranean shrubs. It is strong and powerful on the palate, and counterbalances its notable alcohol content with a very pleasant freshness and some fine, tasty tannins. A perfect wine for autumn which pairs up particularly well with meat stews, game and cured cheeses.

On the dry side
Haven't had this one for a couple of years - was eager to try again as I enjoyed it from before - perhaps my memory is different but this vintage is too dry for my taste.

Very good wine.
This is a great wine from Sardegna; I would suggest to open it 30 minutes before serving. very fruity, fresh red and black fruit; easy to drink, fruity, Good wine, biological. It has 15 degrees but it doesn't feel too strong.

Solid Cannonau
Rich, warm flavour, surprising acidity (but grapes are grown above 500m apparently). Already a soft tannin. Great value for the money. 3 bicchieri gambero rosso, if you care for prizes!

puissant !

Simplement grandiose. Rapport qualité prix quasiment imbattable.
