Initially hard as a metal sheet, with an intensity of fruit that resembled the punch of high alcohol despite being only 12.5%. It softened during the eneining but it only came to life the next day,, when the hardness gave way to linearity and the (false) alcoholic feeling to an intriguing texture. Montsant mineral feel was there, but without the alcoholic charge became it took an elegant twist. Will improve with age. Still, I think the Gredos Garnachas are now the best ones in the Iberian peninsula, much more subtle, elegant and delicate.

Manque de vertèbres

Si vous aimez les vins légers, ce vin vous conviendra certainement. Il a bon goût, passe bien, mais manque cruellement de longueur en bouche. Pour cette raison, il ne peut pas être classé parmi les grands vins. Prix élevé.

Subtiler Montsant-Garnatxa mit Spannung und Beweglichkeit

Es knisterte spürbar, als Dominik Huber Anfang Mai 2018 seine neuen Montsant-Weine aus dem Projekt „Terroir Sense Fronteres“ während des „10è Tast de Cal Compte“ im neuen Domizil in Torroja zum ersten Mal der Öffentlichkeit vorstellte. Man wusste sofort: Was da auf dem Tischchen vor einem stand (u.a. der „Vèrtebra 2017“) ist der Beginn einer großen Geschichte. Eingerahmt wurden Hubers Chefönologin „Tatjana Peceric“ und die „Sense-Fronteres“-Weine von „Anderson Barbier“ mit seinem Premierenwein „Com Tù“, mit auf dem Tisch der einmalige „Espectacle“, rechts daneben „Sarah Peréz“ mit ihrer neuen, überwältigend-schönen „roten Venus“. Alle ausnahmslos rote Garnatxas vom besten Garnatxa-Terroir Spaniens um „La Figuera“. Der „Vèrtebra de la Figuera 2017“, ein „Vi de Poble“, ist der finessenreichste davon. Er spiegelt gleichsam Hubers Priorat-Weinphilosophie. Stilistisch kompromisslos, frühe Ernte, Infusion statt Extraktion, Spontanvergärung, ohne Holz. Das Ergebnis: Mineralisch, transparent, frisch, elegant, weich, garnatxasüß, am Gaumen wunderbar geschichtet. Subtile Spannung und Beweglichkeit. Ein tolles Debut.

Monsant muy mineral y muy expresivo con taninos bien integrados. Todavia joven y ganará con un poco más de tiempo en botella
