The wine

Tenuta Sette Ponti has been one of the family properties since the 1950s when Antonio's father, the architect Alberto Moretti Cuseri, bought the first 50 hectares directly from the princesses Margherita and Maria Cristina of Savoia-Aosta. Located in Chianti, between the cities of Florence and Arezzo, it takes its name from the number of bridges that connect the two banks of the Arno river between the Etruscan city and the Tuscan capital. The first of these is Ponte Buriano (13th century) which is even present in the landscape that forms the background of Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa.

Of a dark ruby color with decisive purple hues, it expresses incredible sensations of fullness and complexity on the nose with notes of small ripe red fruits that chase sensations of chocolate and balsamic flashes. Oreno is an enveloping wine, very rich in structure but decidedly dynamic, embellished by the nuances of new oak and of endless length.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Suckling and Suckling

Wow. Fantastic aromas of blackberries, currants, minerals, violets and graphite. Full-bodied with firm, silky tannins that are incredibly polished and intense, yet ever so refined and integrated in the wine. It goes on for minutes. The is one of the best modern-day Orenos so far. Best in 2025 and onwards.

Currant, flower and orange-blossom aromas follow through to a full body with fine, creamy tannins and a long, persistent finish. Shows finesse and precision. Cherry and orange-peel notes at the end. The flavors go on and on. Better after 2022.
