The wine
Valdehermoso Roble aims to embody a vine-grower's attachment to his land. Valdehermoso is one of the Esteban family's vineyard estates, located in Roa and lying at an altitude of 825 metres.
The meticulous care taken over its production and subsequent ageing in oak barrels serve to highlight the merits of the indigenous “Tinta del País” grape variety.
(Valdehermoso Roble was awarded 90 points by Parker for the 2009 vintage.)
A dark cherry colour, the nose exhibits aromas of well-ripened woodland fruits, with spicy and toasty notes. Generous, flavoursome and fruit-driven on the palate, it boasts sweet tannins and considerable length.
Aged for 6 months in French oak barrels.
