The wine

Viña Pomal Blanco 2023 is a white wine from the Rioja D.O.Ca. Rioja, produced by Bodegas Bilbaínas. This wine is a blend of 70% Viura and 30% Malvasía, two traditional varieties of the region. The grapes come from vineyards influenced by the Atlantic and Mediterranean climates, located in deep, cool alluvial soils, which contributes to the aromatic expression of the grapes.

After the harvest, the grapes are destemmed and macerated with their skins for six hours before pressing. The must ferments in new French and American oak barrels at a controlled temperature of between 15 and 18°C, remaining in contact with the lees for four months, which adds complexity and texture to the wine.

Viña Pomal Blanco 2023 has a pale yellow colour with metallic glints. On the nose, it displays intense aromas of white fruits such as pear and apple, with hints of fennel and a delicate toasted background. The palate is smooth and lively, with a complex aromatic profile and a full, fresh texture. This wine is ideal for pairing with fish, seafood, vegetables and soft cheeses, offering a versatile and easy-drinking experience.

Since its origins, the winery has specialized in farm wines that it produces based on the type of...
