The wine

Viña Salceda 50 Aniversario is a homage to the history of this winery from the small town of Elciego (Rioja Alvesa), using a selection of grapes from their most emblematic vineyards to create a wine which truly expresses the essence of the Viña Salceda winery.

As well as using a careful selection of the best fruit, only 4,900 bottles are produced making it a unique wine. Aged for 18 months in American (80%) and French (20%) barrels, Salceda 50 Aniversario is a balanced and full-bodied red wine with a wonderfully juicy and mature mouth dominated by fresh black fruits. A mature wine which reflects the uniqueness of the Elciego landscape, where the climate of the Cantabria and Demanda mountain ranges balances out Atlantic and Mediterranean influences. A red wine born from the experience of 50 years of winemaking at Viña Salceda; a reference winery for the know-how behind Rioja wines.

Viña Salceda currently makes four wines with very distinct personalities: two wines of the traditional type, a Crianza and a Reserva, and two wines with a more modern profile: Puente de Salceda and Conde de la Salceda, the latter...
