Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker

The 2017 Viña Zaco is now a "Viñedo Singular" the new official category for single-vineyard wines. It comes from 14 hectares at 448 meters in altitude in Haro, where the vines are 35 years old on limestone and sand soils. It fermented in open concrete pools followed by malolactic in barrel and 20 months in 1,200-liter oak foudres. It's clean and modern, clearly one of the "new" wines that overcomes a very challenging vintage, and it shows well—fresh and balanced despite the 15% alcohol, with balance, which is the key. The palate is medium to full-bodied, and the tannins are fine. 3,500 bottles were filled in June 2020. The bottle is horribly oversized.

Since its origins, the winery has specialized in farm wines that it produces based on the type of...
