The wine

Xabre is a wine that's different from the vast majority of wines you will have tried. Aromatic, fresh and floral; surprising, interesting and delicious. Moreover, produced with great artistry and with attention to every detail: the wine, the bottle and the label. An original creation, executed very tastefully, with just over 3,000 bottles made. Pure craftsmanship.

Xabre is very pleasant, both on the nose and palate, appearing a lovely colour with medium-high density, most elegant. Harmony is its great merit: ripe, expressive and juicy fruit, and an array of aromas and flavours which have remarkable complexity and originality. Although it's made predominantly from Mencía grapes (90%), you'll find it a different type of Mencía.

It's an evocative wine regarding sense of smell. It starts off by exhibiting a very seductive vegetal freshness (the capsule's green colour is not accidental), with deeper woodland aromas (fir and cypress trees) or lighter notes of recently-cut grass, and continues with a Christmas nuance due to its spiciness, sweetish, with floral notes too and medicinal hints. There aren't any rough edges, it's all nicely balanced.

On the palate it's delicate, medium-bodied, with a juicy texture and lovely sweetness, leaving a glycerin sensation on the tongue, with those same vegetal hints and notes of well-refined oak in the aftertaste, and they carry on persisting. Original and very satisfying, with a moderate alcohol content as well. All in all, a real pleasure to drink!
