Zorzettig Cabernet Franc

The Zorzettig winery is perched on the top of one of the highest hills in Spessa di Cividale in the heart of the Friuli Colli Orientali appellation, a region in north-east Italy with a long history of winegrowing. Close to the town of Cividale del Friuli, the vineyards in Spessa are located in an excellent terroir with an ideal local climate, protected from the cold winds of the Alps while enjoying beneficial sea breezes from the Adriatic sea. Sandy clay soils boost the freshness and elegance of both their white wines and red wines. Varieties from far away such as Pinot Grigio or Cabernet Franc feel at home here too alongside local grapes. The Zorzettig winery is over a hundred years old and they have bottled their own wines for at least seventy years. Since the 1990s, they have also made a special commitment to working on reforming and making the most of their vineyards and to improving their production and bottling techniques.
