Astoria
Founded in 1987 by brothers Paolo and Giorgio Polegato from a traditional family background of winemaking, Astoria stands out for the quality of its products. Astoria wines are present in the most exclusive restaurants, wine cellars and wine bars in Italy and the rest of the world. The winery is centred in the small historical town of Refrontolo, in the province of Treviso, home to some of the most prestigious vineyards for producing DOCG Prosecco di Valdobbiadene wines.
They own forty hectares of vines located in one of the most charming winemaking areas of Italy; an area famous for its climate where vines grow in harmony with the landscape of gentle hillsides. All in all, their Prosecco wines stand out as a flagship for the winemaking traditions of the region of Veneto. Thanks to their excellent Proseccos, and especially the Millesimato vintages, Astoria has won many awards over the years, including the Gold Medal at the Vinitaly International Wine Exhibition. The Astoria Millesimato, Astoria Cartizze, and Astoria Refrontolo Passito Fervo represent the jewels in the winery’s crown, closely followed by a surprising, innovative and wonderful range of sparkling wines.
The shape and design of their bottles, with their diamond-cut relief, are also famous and noteworthy, ensuring an exquisite presentation ideal for both informal and formal gatherings. But Astoria is much more than Prosecco: they also produce wood-aged wines from their Crevada and Croder vineyards, under the DOCG Colli di Conegliano label. The winery has a highly-qualified prestigious technical team, and the capacity to unite the art of winemaking tradition with the utmost attention to environmental sustainability, a firm commitment to experimentation and technological innovation.
