Belondrade

The Belondrade winery was founded in 1994 by Didier Belondrade, a Frenchman who became enamoured with Spain. His objective was to produce an excellent white wine inspired by the great Burgundy whites, using Rueda’s traditional grape variety, the Verdejo.

For several years he worked in rented premises in Nava del Rey, until he was able to open the doors of his new winery in 2000, situated on the actual estate on the outskirts of La Seca. The winery was designed by the French architect Vincent Defous du Rau and is equipped with the most up-to-date technology in the whole wine-making and ageing procedure.

Didier aims to keep yearly production down to 75,000 bottles and to focus all his attention on the quality of his wines. There is no doubt that his first wine "Belondrade y Lurton" has now become a benchmark for the D.O. and is considered by many experts to be one of the best white wines produced in Spain today.
