From the cradle of Ribera del Duero, Bodegas Trus recovers the traditional idea of the château to produce estate wines with grapes produced just a few metres from the winery. A zero kilometre viticulture in a historically privileged place. Their philosophy stems from their own vineyards around the winery and the use of advanced techniques for soil characterisation. Thanks to this technology they can divide each estate into plots, each plot into small similar areas and each of these areas, if necessary, into groups of vines with similar behaviour. A new way of understanding viticulture, in which each vine has something very important to say.they have more than 60 hectares of vineyards in 14 plots within a radius of 2 km. All of them are Tinto Fino, so the key to differentiation depends mainly on the conditions of each soil. His ambitious soil characterisation project emphasises precisely how the type of soil conditions the contributions of each vine to the wines. His short-term goal is to focus on the typicity of each particular area of a plot and to carry out separate vinifications, and then decide whether the result is part of a new blend or is marketed on its own.
