Brancaia
Young oenologist Barbara Widmer has taken over the reins of a winery from her father Bruno. The winery, bought by the family in 1981 when it was still an abandoned farmhouse, is today among the most consistent and reliable in Chianti, with a clear international inclination, but never at the expense of territoriality and traditional appellations. With highly sustainable viticulture, Barbara's vigour and dynamism equals her love for the territory.
Active on particularly heterogeneous terrains, Brancaia works the Chianti Classico between Castellina, on fertile stony soils, and Radda, with its distinctly rocky landscape. The style of the wines is modern, with a skilful but constant use of the barrique, which, however, does not tarnish the freshness and the dynamism of the products, their balance and their elegance.
