Cantine Colosi

Cantine Colosi is a family winery with over 40 years of history, located on the island of Salina, part of the volcanic archipelago of the Aeolian Islands in Sicily, Italy. The Colosi family cultivates around 10 hectares of terraced vineyards offering breathtaking sea views, mainly in the areas of Capo Faro and Porri.

The winery specialises in indigenous Sicilian varieties such as Corinto Nero, Nerello Cappuccio, Nerello Mascalese, Inzolia, Catarratto and Malvasia. Among its featured wines are two IGP Salina whites, a rosé, an IGP Salina red and two expressions of Malvasia delle Lipari DOP, an emblematic dessert wine of the region.

Cantine Colosi's philosophy focuses on producing wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the Sicilian territory, taking advantage of the volcanic soil and Mediterranean climate to produce wines with distinctive flavours and aromas.

With three generations of experience, the winery is run by winemaker Pietro Colosi, in collaboration with his father Piero and mother Lidia, who manage all the company's activities, including a production plant in Giammoro, in the province of Messina.

Cantine Colosi has been recognised for its commitment to quality and tradition, winning awards such as ‘The Wine Hunter Award 2023’ for its Grillo Acacia, Secca del Capo and Malvasia delle Lipari Najm wines.

The winery has also been featured in publications such as Wine Enthusiast, which awarded 90 points to its Nero d'Avola 2021, describing it as a wine with notes of cherries, wild strawberries and sour plums, complemented by hints of balsamic vinegar and mushrooms.
