Coca i Fitó

The Coca i Fitó brothers (Toni and Miquel), originally from the Alt Penedés, are the sons of farmers and grew up amongst vineyards. They began in 2006 to make their own singular wines, in a modern style, produced using a selection of grapes from various vineyards with differing mineral composition, therefore wines which combine the minerality of the terroir with the essence of varieties such as Garnacha, Cariñena and Syrah.

Vine cultivation is ecological and the vineyards are scattered among the various villages lying in the Falset valley (Marçà, El Masroig, Falset, Capçanes, Pradell, Guiamets and La Serra d'Almos), surrounded by Mediterranean undergrowth. The mineral composition of the land is varied, although mainly composed of granite, llicorella (slate), clay, pebbles and calcareous soil.

(Toni Coca is known for his involvement with several family-run wineries chiefly in the Priorat and Montsant regions, such as Vinyes Domènech, Trossos del Priorat, Domini de la Cartoixa and Celler Burgos Porta but also in the Penedés and the Costers del Segre, for example Mas Blanch i Jové.)

Coca i Fitó participates in other projects together with other wineries, such as its Empordà project alongside Roig Parals , Coca i Fito & Roig Parals , or its most recent foray into neighboring DOQ Priorat, where it has the collaboration of Trossos del Priorat for the production of its Samsara Priorat wine.
