Dom Pérignon

Dom Pérignon is much more than a Champagne. Its sublime effervescence, exquisite and delicate texture, and majestic and toasted character have made it a legend; an icon of luxury and elegance and, perhaps, the most desired Champagne in the world.

The first vintage was created by Moët & Chandon in 1921 and released for sale 15 years later, in 1936. Nowadays Dom Pérignon belongs to the LVMH business group. Its name refers to the seventeenth-century Benedictine monk Dom Pierre Pérignon from the Hautvillers Abbey who is thought to have discovered the champagne wine-making method where a second fermentation in the bottle adds the sparkle to Champagne wines. The story goes that he was trying to produce the best wine in the world and, given the success Champagne has enjoyed ever since, many people believe he achieved his goal.

This mythical Champagne is not produced every year. Only when the harvest is of an excellent quality, is a vintage made. Such care, together with the know-how of the Chef de Cave, or head winemaker, and the 8 or 10 years it is left to age before being released, have made Dom Pérignon a legendary wine. A wonderful Champagne combining the elegance and energy of Chardonnay with the character and persistence of Pinot Noir.

Perfectly balanced, with an extraordinary and harmonious fullness, Dom Pérignon is a magical promise which never fails to deliver.
