Elvio Cogno

The Elvio Cogno winery is located in the hills of the Bricco Ravera, in Novello, in the heart of the Langhe. Set in a centuries-old house, surrounded by 11 hectares of vineyards, the winery expresses the charming countryside of rolling hillsides and wide-open skies in its wines.

The Cogno family has been dedicated to wine growing through four generations, producing traditional wines in the Langhe, one of Italy's and the whole world's finest regions.

Elvio Cogno's great wines, especially its Barolo and its Barbaresco, arise first and foremost from the care and attention taken in cultivating the vineyards, without no pressure put on either their pace or natural balance. This consummate care doesn't end in the vineyard but continues in the winery, where fermentation takes place by means of native yeasts and afterwards a perfectly balanced ageing in oak.

This results in high quality red wines, that are rich and not overstated, harmonious and classic in character, supple and elegant.
