Pieve Santa Restituta
Acquired by Gaja in 1994, the Pieve Santa Restituta winery possesses 40 hectares of historic vineyards in the south-west of the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. There, the stony and chalky soils, poor in nutrients, prove ideal for cultivating vines and for the Sangiovese variety in particular.
In 2006, the winery's lands were complemented by a further 25 hectares of vineyards procured by Gaja in the north-east of the denomination.
In a remarkable relationship between the exceptional terroir and a genius of Angelo Gaja's calibre, Pieve de Santa Restituta makes its Brunello di Montalcinos using the grapes from various parcels and two Crus, Sugarille and Rennina.
