Tenuta San Pietro
The modernisation of the winery and the conversion of the vineyards to certified organic were the final push to position the Tenuta San Pietro, the historic wine-producer in Gavi, to the qualitative peak of the denomination. The grapes, of perfect and full ripeness, derive from a splendid amphitheatre around the property, on optimally exposed limestone soils. The Mandorlo, with it its excellent body, structure and sapidity, is a Gavi that convinces with its slightly almond-like minerality, finesse and persistence, which pushes the expressive limits of the Cortese grape . It comes from a vineyard that is a real Gavi cru, on calcareous-clayey soils exposed to the south-west. At its side, the Gavi San Pietro, more fresh and drinkable, but of exceptional workmanship, straight, linear, sapid too and of splendid taste persistence.
