Villa da Filicaja

From the heart of Tuscany, between San Gimignano and San Miniato, and precisely in the town of Al Filicaja, Count Antonio Nardi-Dei from Filicaja Dotti has created a magnificent empire of Italian excellence. The large estate, governed by the family name since the mid-fifteenth century, extends over 100 hectares around a splendid castle, which still has its dark and evocative cellars from the past. On this land the vine coexists with thousands of other crops to maintain a complete and balanced ecosystem. These cellars see the ageing of wines of character but which are elegant, which benefit from excellent temperature changes from day to night and a climate well mitigated by the Tyrrhenian Sea, as well as poor and stony soils.

A passionate man and collector of great wines, the Conte da Filicaja has decided to extend his production from Chianti, which is typical of the area and with a prevalence of Sangiovese, to all the best terroirs of Italian wine. The result was the "Collezione del Conte", which from North to South, from Barolo to Primitivo, embraces the best-loved Italian wines in the world preserving the stylistic imprint and the qualitative rigour of the Tuscan Estate.
