Frizzante white wine
The most famous slightly sparkling or frizzante wines are the Italian Lambruscos (frizzante means fizzy in Italian), but they’re not often produced in white. However, some other white wines with a gentle fizz can be found outside Emilia-Romagna and also in Spain, such as the emblematic Blanc Pescador, the most highly-rated semi-sparkling white (known as a blanco de aguja in Spanish) on the Catalan coast. Here at Vinissimus you’ll find an interesting selection of semi-sparkling whites from different regions, and we recommend you take a look at our list of Pet Nat wines, a type of slightly sparkling wine with its own personality and very much on the rise both in Cataluña and in areas producing Italian Prosecco where it’s called Col fondo, referring to the natural sediment of the lees at the bottom of the bottle, or Fermentazione in Bottiglia.
