Rioja Gran Reserva

Wines in the Gran Reserva category are traditional wines which are usually produced only in the best vintage years. They age in oak barrels for a minimum of two years, with a further two years in bottle; they are released onto the market in their fifth year. As regards whites, the minimum ageing in barrel is reduced to 6 months, with a total of four years spent in cellar before being released.
